What Hodgepodge "IS"
A Story Idea Generator
Sometimes the most difficult part of writing a story is coming up with interesting and unique story ideas. That's where Hodgepodge can help. Hodgepodge randomly selects elements for the story. One time it might be a crime to solve in the desert; another to find a missing person near a haunted house. There are hundreds of combinations possible.
Useful for Beginning and Experienced Story Writers
The "Story Maker" option is recommended for beginning or reluctant story writers. Hodgepodge "writes" parts of the story, using the random selections and the student's data entry. This assistance in "structuring" is not merely a "fill in the blanks." Instead, this sturcturing helps young authors to see how the elements of their story can be arranged in an effective way.

The "Outline Only" option is the most creative. Hodgepodge builds a story "outline" from the random selections and student's data entry, and then leaves the story writing entirely to the student's imagination.
